I find my lack of updates disturbing.....
So, free time becomes less and less for me as hours at work shift and increase, social life takes a great upswing, quickly followed by a sudden stop, and, most of all, I simply indulge my inner geek.
To start it off, I had a female companion for a brief time, but things went sour and ended. Not even all that torn up about it, to be honest. Then there was the new guys at work and their pool table in their garage that called to me and everyone alike. Then the movies. So many movies...... Tropic Thunder, Pineapple Express, Speed Racer, Quantum of Solace, Watchmen, Yes Man, Star Trek, Wolverine, and many many more....
Most of all though, work has been taking up a gigantic amount of my time, with my days off spent paying bills and getting errands done. Add to that the need to get out of the house and have some fun, not to mention WoWing it up, and any time to draw is simply too hard to find right now. Also, my scanner hates me, so the art that I DO have done, I can't scan and upload.
Also, I recently took a trip out to Jolly Ole Utah to visit
So, for now, that's about it. I'll try to stay a bit more on top of my journal here, but I can't make any guarantees.
Music Update
Ahh, the one thing I have been delving into.
First, I was lucky enough to catch two concerts since my last update. First being Ludo, who rocked my world, and the other being OkGO, who did the same. Both bands were incredible to see live, and I urge everyone to at least check out their music if you haven't already.
Second, I've seen a bunch of bands locally that have really stood out in my mind. First off the bat being the band that I work for, Panic Button, [link] Others include the two bands I saw this past sunday, Mury [link] and Paper Mache [link] Both bands completely ROCKED Blake's in Berkeley, and you guys should definitly check them out.
Third, new (at least to me) albums I've picked up. The new Green Day CD, "21st Century Breakdown", is a good follow-up to "American Idiot", though it doesn't have quite as many memorable songs on it. Up next, My Chemical Romance's "The Black Parade" is a great example of a concept album, following the continuous theme of death and the afterlife, and how the moments of your life flash as you pass on. Also, Hollywood Undead's "Swan Songs" CD is a fantastic bled of rock, electronica, and hip-hop, bringing alot to the table and delivering with each song.
Art Update
*too busy crying over my scanner* ;_;
